E-bike riding suspect wanted in violent robbery spree across the Bronx, Manhattan
MediaTHE BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Police are searching for a suspect wanted in a violent gunpoint robbery spree that has taken place across Manhattan and the Bronx over the past few months.
There have been 17 incidents since September, and in one case, shots were fired.
The crime spree has involved gunpoint robberies linked to an e-bike riding suspect.
One of the most recent victims was 76-year-old Jorge Medina, a resident in the West Concourse section of the Bronx.
Medina was victim No. 16, and was robbed of $500 on Halloween morning.
"He cut me off. He yelled, 'Give it to me I said, all of it,'" Medina said.
The 76-year-old victim was confronted as he walked from a bank near Yankee Stadium.
Police say the first incident occurred in September, and the latest took place just two days ago in Manhattan.
Two of the robberies took place at the intersection of University Avenue and the Washington Bridge.
The M.O. involves the suspect riding up to a victim who is walking or on bikes themselves. The man then pulls out a gun and demands money.
