Third teen arrested for allegedly stealing NYC subway train for joyride: NYPD

In December 2024, six teenagers were involved in a daring incident in Brooklyn, New York, where they stole an empty "R" subway train and took it on a joyride. The incident occurred in a subway yard, where the group of teens boarded the unattended train and operated it, causing damage to the train, including breaking its glass panels. The whole event was later shared on social media.

Three of the teens, aged 15 and 17, were arrested. The 15-year-old was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. Authorities are still searching for the remaining three suspects involved. Police emphasized the danger of their actions, highlighting the significant safety risks posed by such reckless behavior.
