3 juveniles stabbed in separate incidents in Brooklyn and Queens, police say

All three victims are under the age of 16.
12-year-old stabbed in the chest, another child charged
The first incident happened just before 3 p.m. at a playground at Thomas Boyland Street and Dumont Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
Another 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with attempted murder, police said on Friday.
Two juveniles had been taken into custody, officials said.
In a separate incident in Queens, two teenagers were stabbed at Seneca Avenue and Palmetto Street in Ridgewood. It happened at around 4:50 p.m.
Police said when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 13-year-old boy stabbed in the chest and a 15-year-old boy stabbed in the back. Both were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive.
No arrests have been made.
Surveillance video obtained exclusively by CBS News New York captures what appears to be a heated argument among a group of teens, then moments later, a fight breaks out. You can see a person in a light gray hoodie throw a punch, and an individual hits the ground. The commotion continues out of frame, and then another surveillance camera captures three people running away around the same time.
"I was sleeping by my garage. It was a fight there with some kids," witness Luis Gonzalez said. "The next thing you know, they started jumping him and they beat him down and then it looked like they stabbed him."
Police confirm the video of the fight that broke out is connected to the stabbing.
Officers scoured the scene for evidence and interviewed people inside several businesses and in the area.
"That's terrible. You wouldn't expect it to happen on a busy street, you know, in the middle of the day," said Kamil Pracrt, who works at a nearby liquor store.
People who live in this area say more needs to be done to ensure street safety, including increasing police presence.
"I mean, two teenagers getting stabbed, something is going on around here," resident Heriberto Hernandez said.
