Small dog helps foil robbery at Brooklyn pharmacy

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Video released this week by the NYPD shows three would-be robbers running out of a Brooklyn pharmacy after they were confronted by the owner—and a small dog.

Police said three men, one armed with a gun, tried to rob the New Trend Pharmacy on Avenue H, near E. 34th Street, in East Flatbush earlier this month—but their plans were quickly thwarted by the owner and a barking dog.

The video released by police shows the tiny pooch yapping and wagging its tail at the suspects before they start fleeing.

One suspect crashes over a counter and another dashes through an aisle to escape, the video shows.

No injuries were reported in the attempted robbery, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Shocking video shows unsolved NYC gun-point robbery from 2017

The NYPD released shocking new video Tuesday of an unsolved gunpoint robbery from three years ago that depicts a pair of goons rip the watch off a man’s wrist as a frightened child looks on.

In the video, two men follow three victims — a man, two women and a child — into an elevator inside 2061 St. Raymond Ave. and then proceeded to rob them, cops said.

The thieves netted two cellphones and the man’s watch. They also appeared to pull something out of one of his pockets, video shows.

There were no injuries.

Shocking video shows moment thieves pull off brazen East Village ATM heist

Dramatic surveillance footage shows the moment two brazen thieves ripped an ATM out of an East Village bodega before making off with the loot.

The newly released footage shows a white van back up to the Yankee Deli & Grocery on Avenue C at 4:35 a.m. Friday, with a rope or chain tied to something inside the store — yanking the ATM out onto the street on the second attempt.

The two masked burglars then run over and open the back of the van and struggle for about 2 minutes to load the massive machine into the vehicle before finally speeding off.

“A lot of people know me and never, I never put in m mind something could happen like that,” store owner Jose Collado, who has run the store for 27 years, said at a press conference Sunday.

“Somebody called me and say, ‘You know what happened?'” Collado said. “I say no. I very scared. He told me something like that. I come quickly to the store and see everything down. I feel badly.”

“It’s like $10,000” to repair the damage, he said.

On Sunday, the head of the United Bodegas Of America said it was part of a disturbing crime trend targeting small businesses in the Big Apple.

“Every day we hear from different bodega owners about robberies and burglaries and their safes being stolen and their ATM has been pulled away,” said Fernando Matero, who says the group represents 14,000 stores. “But nothing like what we saw here.”
