Six suspects are being sought by the NYPD for stealing a subway train in Queens and taking it on a joyride. The theft occurred at around 10 p.m. on a Saturday near the 71st Avenue station in Forest Hills. The group entered an empty "R" train at a storage yard in Brooklyn and operated it, reaching speeds of up to 30 miles per hour on the express tracks. They also vandalized the train by damaging the glass panels. No arrests have been made, and no injuries were reported. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

A 46-year-old man was slashed on the No. 2 subway train on the Upper West Side of Manhattan early Tuesday morning. The attack occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a 54-year-old suspect slashed the victim's neck, head, left elbow, and shoulder. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital and is reported to be stable. The police recovered a knife at the scene and arrested the suspect, who did not appear to know the victim. This incident comes as the NYPD has increased its presence in the subway system, with 300 officers now patrolling overnight.
